Named area defensive player of the year in today's DMN (SportsDay Highschool football section). Euless Trinity Sr., DE has been offered a scholarship by SMU and wants to go to an area college. 6-1, 210 lbs., 4.6 forty. This past year he had 111 tackles, (53 solo, 58 assists), 17 tackles for loss, 7 1/2 sacks, 7 passes broken up, two interceptions, 5 fumbles caused, and 1 fumble recovered. An article in Rivals dated May 1, 2006, indicated that he was also interested in TCU. At that time he benched 275 lbs and squat was 400 lbs. The three schools on his list are Houston, TCU, and SMU. His coach says that he can't be fooled or blocked and can't run away from him because of his speed. Originally he is from the Demacratic Republic of Congo. He wants to major in mechanical engineering. 8)

I wonder if anyone has taken him over to our new Mechanical Engineering building?

that article also had the first real info on what kind of player OLM Kelley Turner had at HP this year. He made Second Team All Area and it said he had 140 knockdown blocks and allowed no sacks and no "Pressures". Josh Leribeus made First Team All Area and averaged 6 knockdowns per game.

Yes, but his people executed him after they were forced to watch both Cannonball Run movies.

I heard several other schools have gotten in on Yenga in a hurry over the last week or two. Sounds to me like he's one of those guys whose size made many schools hesitant to offer, but a lot of folks realize he can really play. Once someone had the guts to offer him, others are following suit. But the more I read about him, the better he sounds, and the more I want to see him in red and blue.
