"Bell, who is No. 55 on SportsDay's Area Top 100, said he picked SMU over Colorado State, UT-El Paso, Baylor, Tulsa and Kansas. He said he went with the Mustangs because of their coaching staff.
"'I like coach [Phil] Bennett the most,' said Bell, who played as a freshman and sophomore at Wilmer-Hutchins and as a junior at Arlington Grace Prep. 'He's already getting it turned around. SMU is a school on the rise.'"
I like hearing that from kids coming in. That's a real step forward for recruits to start looking at SMU because they see the program on the rise.
