offensive linemen (7 at this point) commited this year and only 1 DE. We are in need of rebuilding our DL. Where is the depth for next year ?

the list has 6 ol, if you saw smu play last season, you should know why we would take so many.

From our roster we have 2 OL only from last year. We needed several this year to keep the pipeline going. Roster also listings 5 DEs and 2 DL from last years recruiting. If some of those DEs are growing into the DL position it may not be so thin.

So basically, the coaches think we are going to be in pretty good shape on the DL next year depth wise etc. ? I guess some of the red shirt freshmen defensive end/linemen we recruited last year have really stepped up. I'm not trying to be a smart [deleted], just asking a question.

Yes, the coaches like our young tackles, and think we will be deeper at that position than we have in a long time, but I think we really did want a JUCO on the DL to make up for our losses.

we will be very "deep" with a group of sleepers who weren't highly recruited, are generally small and who haven't proved a thing in Division 1A. I always thought to be deep by definition that means quality. We don't have ANY proven quality there.

If DL Charlie Berry is coming back, as stated for his senior year, that should help alot.

Every other year Bennett stocks up on OL and redshirts them. Not a bad policy if you can get quality players. That is how you establish the needed depth. Seems like we are picking up the quality some what this year and hopefully it will continue to improve. We still need some immediate help at DL, but we have long needed help at OL. Fourth and 1 anybody?

Personally I would like to see a Statue of Liberty play from time to time on 4th and 1 ... I have reason to believe it might actually work.

You assume our coaches have enough ability to teach the kids how to run the play properly. You know what happens when you assume....
