RECRUIT YOU GUYS MAY BE INTERESTED IN

Postby aggiemetal » Mon Jan 15, 2007 8:07 pm

HEY GUYS MY FIRST POST HERE.
I'm an AGGIE and have info on a kid ya'll may be interested in.
----------------------------------

Anyways there is a kid from my hometown. He is an under the radar prospect b/c he's from HONDO but he deserves a look.

His name is ANDY WERNER.

He was a RB/FS/PLK/Kick Returner for the Hondo Owls and though a great HS RB (2,000 plus yards his SR year) I think he would project as a SAFETY where he also excelled. Great athlete, HARD HITTER, good speed, great moves. He 6'1" 190 and could easily fill out to 210 (if not more) as well as add speed under a real S&C program. His 40 time is in the high 4.4's-4.5 now.

Also worth noting is that his ability held up against the best 3A had to offer all the way through the semi-final against eventual state champs Liberty Hill where he had 200+ all purpose yards (including a 93 yard opening kickoff return).

IF ANY OF YOU ON HERE CAN GET THIS INFO IN THE RIGHT HANDS I'D APPRECIATE IT. TIME IS TICKING ON SIGNING DAY AND THIS KID DESERVES TO PLAY FOR A GOOD DI PROGRAM.

THANKS GUYS. ENJOY THE OFF SEASON AND GOOD LUCK NEXT SEASON. Gig 'Em MUSTANGS.

I saw that you posted this on the Frog board too. Seriously what you need to do is go to the Coaching section of each school's website he might be interested in and e-mail or call the Recruiting Coordinator or one of the Position Coaches for each school. What is Hondo 3A -pretty amazing stats I'll admit. The person to call or e-mail at SMU is Eric Roark. You might also contact the www.Rivals.com editor. Don't waste your time with the near-do-wells on this board-go directly to the Recruiting Coordinators and Rivals-its their job.

yeah Hondo is 3A (we've got a pretty good history including 8th most playoff appearances in Texas HS Football history and this kid is one of the best we've had but b/c we're small he's only getting a few looks from D1 schools)

Hondo is a good producing school and like you said unless you are a stand-out player you will not get noticed.

Hondo had a great team this year and Andy Werner obviously had alot to do with that. I hope our coaches will take a good look at this guy. He was amazing in high school.

I heard a LOT about this kid especially considering Hondo played our neighboring district Orange Grove in the playoffs at the same stadium on the same day directly after one of our playoff games. Everything I've heard is that he's got a LOT of talent.

He's the type of player we need to be recruiting - under the radar, but a good athlete. TCU recruited Tommy Blake out of 3A Aransas Pass, converted him from a RB to a DE, and look at him now.

We seem to have a lot of 3A players. Who of our coaches recruits that area?
We seem to have a lot of 3A players. Who of our coaches recruits that area?
.......Probably Coach Vinklarek as he recruits an area west northwest of San Antonio. Hondo is less than 50 miles from SA.
