DMN 2008 Recruiting Lists....

in the paper on page 11C.

Now I now why Phil only recruited 1 player for the QB position this year. Four QB recruits on the Area Top 50 list have SMU as a school they are interested in. They are:

Riley Dodge 5-11, 188, Southlake Carroll
Tommy Dorman, 6-2, 185, Birdville
Nick Florence, 6-1, 175, South Gaqrland
Yogi Gallegos, 6-2, 190, Irving

In addition, other recruits include:

WR Daymond Patterson 5-9, 160, North Mesquite
DL Kapron Lewis-Moore, 6-4, 220, Weatherford

Looks like Phil needs to get to work on the rest of the Top 50 Area list as well as the State list. Not one player on the Top 50 of the State's list currently shows an interest in SMU. What is really disappointing is the fact that R.J. Washington, whose Dad was a prominent member on the Pony Express teams of the early 80's, has already COMMITTED to Oklahoma. Disgusting! (He has a big writeup in the paper on 11C.) Okay Phil, your time to relax is over as 7 members of the State Top 50, including Washington, have already committed! :?

I used to have to block that guy on sweep plays.

Not the most fun job.

PB better get on the stick with regard to Kapron Lewis-Moore as he just picked up offers from Notre Dame and Texas A$M, according to Rivals!

The #1 and #3 QBs in the state list interest in SMU. (Dodge and Dorman) I can't figure out how the #4 QB in the state is #3 in the nation, though.

Yes I missed the fact that the two top quarterbacks were also on the State list. However, we didn't have any prospects listed for any other position on the state list.

Hopefully that'll change after this year's football season.

Per Rivals, Tommy Dorman committed to A$M today and is already their 13th commitment for the class of 2008. :?

yah i was looking at this list a few days ago... im not really suprised by the fact riley dodge did not make the list since he is so short; however, i am suprised tre newton is not on it (especially since USA today rank him as one of the top ten juniors to watch next year) http://www.usatoday.com/sports/preps/fo ... iors_x.htm
**edit** rivals also has tre listed at a 4.6, i would be really interested to see tre run that "4.6," especially after the state game when he turned it up the sidelines for a 70+ yard run where 9 guys touched him (and had the angle on him)
