For those that have not followed Doherty's weekly Monday radio show he has mentioned a few times that he had hoped to get a transfer with one of our remaining scholarships to help balance out the classes. I assume this is more crucial to us being that he has stated we will not aggresively pursue many JUCO's. In any event it always seems like he has a few players in mind and I just wanted to speculate on one that might fit the bill.

George Odufuwa curently a freshman at Arizona St. averaging only 4.8 minutes per game and has only appeared in half the team's games this season. Was a Rivals 3 Star out of Kimball HS. Had interest in SMU last season but I am not sure if that was only because of Tubbs or if he was still interested when Doherty came in. Currently listed as 6'8 240lbs.

Have no evidence that we are interested in Odufuwa or that he is still interested in us but this seems like a guy who very well might transfer after the year is over. Maybe he's home sick and wants to come to SMU. Could potentially be a great addition to our growing front line.

Are you just shooting at the hip, or has he stated he's unhappy?

i remember the name, thought we had a chance to get him. looks like that arizona state choice hasn't boded well for him, it'd be nice to get a transfer from a legit non juco school

This is all just speculation. George left Dallas for greener pastures and has played less than Cam Spencer has for us. And we were one of a handfull of schools he strongly considerd. Also I didn't mention this in my original post but ASU fired Rob Evans at last season and brought in Herb Sendek. Did Odufuwa originally sign his LOI while Evans was coach? I can't remember.

Yes, he signed under Evans.

Overrated...........another of those kids who were better at 13 than at 18.
