Not sure if reported here yet or not (took a cursory look and didn't see it):
DeMikel Shankle 6-0/198/4.42 Spring Hill
Per Dave Smoak:
Spring Hill head football coach Robert Bero told me senior running back DeMikel Shankle will soon sign a football scholarship with SMU.
Shankle, 6-0, 198, has been through two major knee injuries, but recently won the district 200-meter championship with a run of 20.72. He finished third at the regional meet, and runs Spring Hill's anchor leg on their 4 x 100 meter relay.
Congrats, Shankle was highly recruited until 2 serious knee injuries sidelined him. Looks to be fully recovered and is a tremendous pick up for Bennett.

Rated a high 2 star by Rivals at 5.4. Rivals reported immediately after signing date he had offers in hand from Houston, Kansas St., Ole Miss., Missouri before the two knee injuries. He claimed that Air Force and Baylor still had offers on the table on February 5 but mentioned that Baylor indicated that he could wait a year to recuperate-considering the size of Baylor's class that may be a reference to a possible grey shirt at Baylor. Looks like a decent pickup if that track time shows he has fully recovered. He has had reurring problems with his knees though-first hurting one as an 8th grader.

Cousin of Aggie E.J. Shankle and they might have eventually offered prior to his Senior injury. In two games as a Junior prior to an ACL he had 500 yards rushing in 2 games-at an incredible 20 yards per rush. Also had 3 TD Pass Receptions and averaged 27 yards every time he touched the ball. Apparently hurt the other knee as a Senior in first game back after running for 90 yards on 9 carries.

As of about 13 months ago Shankle was rated as the No. 69 player in the State of Texas by Scout. Rated Top 20 Defensive Back by Texas Football. 2003 Texas Prep x-Tra East Texas Sophmore of the Year. 4th in the Long Jump at the 2005 3A Texas Relays with a jump of 22 Ft as a Sophmore. Under Max Emfinger's inflated rated he is a 6 Star at DB and rated the No. No. 27 CB in the country. I do wonder if that 20.72 200 Meters is correct-according to DYE Stat which collectes the top times in the nation a time of 20.72 in the 200 Meters would be the fastest time in the Nation by .24 seconds. It would also been the Top time in the Nation in the fully completed 2006 outdoor track season by .02 seconds.

According to the Dallas Morning News, there is a kid from the Dallas area who reportedly ran something like a 20.49 in the 200 Meters-which would be the fastest time in the Country. Always notice his name and times when weekly checking on Aldrick Robinson's time in the High School Section. He's probably one of the top sprinters in the Country.

In that same district Jamell Kennedy won the triple and long jump. I want to say he anchored the 4x100 but not sure.
