Conference USA

Memphis: A

Memphis continues to reload and is the premier program in this conference. John Calipari landed a prize recruit in Derrick Rose a 6-3 NBA prototype point guard out of Simeon High School in Chicago. Rose is the No. 5 player in the ESPN 150. In addition the Tigers landed Jeff Robinson (Elizabeth, N.J./St. Patrick's) and the Morris twins Marcus and Markieff from Prep Charter High School in Philadelphia.

SMU: B

Matt Doherty made his presence felt quickly in the recruiting circles by attracting a number of talented players to his SMU campus. His biggest impact signee is 6-10 center Papa Dia (South Kent, Conn.)

UAB: B

Mike Davis has settled in nicely in Birmingham and he and his staff had a very good recruiting class this year. They landed 6-6 guard Terrence Roderick (Allentown, Pa./Rise Academy) and Reggie Huffman a 6-7 power forward from Western Oklahoma JC.

Only 3 teams graded from Conference USA, also better than many of the BCS schools...

Pfft, ESPN, what a bunch of sunshiners.

I heart sarcasm.

Well, we're sure that if the ESPN recruiting folks' ranking system has the nerve to differ from Rivals, that some self-professed recruiting gurus on this board will dispute it because as we all know, they know better.

And another thing, in the future let's just defer to them rather than some independent third-party setup.

Wow, Papa Dia is 6' 10", I thought he was 6-8 or 6-9. If he continues to grow...

Congratulations to Coach Doherty and his staff! Good national press -- yet another nugget he can sell to fans and recruits.
Keep it up, Coach!
