SMU offers DT Eddie Brown, a 3-star DT from Waller, TX. He is 6'2", 265 lb. with an offer from Baylor and interest in Okie State, TT, Nebraska.

Also, word on the street is that Riley Dodge has decommitted from UT. I know he showed interest in us before committing to UT, so don't know the whole scoop. Maybe someone with insider information can shed some light on this. UT's Rivals site shows they have had a decommitment, but being whereas I have more important things to spend my money on, I can't figure out who it is. He doesn't show up on their Rivals commitment list anymore, but he is still on Scout. So who knows, just thought I would throw that out there for discussion, negativity, and who knows what all else.

The Rivals site says he decommitted from UT and committed to UNT.

Where did you see him as committed to NT? I know that Brett Vito posted it in his Denton Record Chronicle blog and it's all over internet message boards but I have yet to see it on rivals or scout.com or some other concrete source. Would love for it to be true though.

Teammates: Riley Dodge following father to UNT

Southlake Carroll quarterback Riley Dodge might be headed to North Texas along with his father, Todd Dodge, who took over as the Mean Green's head coach in December.

Riley Dodge was recruited by UNT, but orally committed to Texas in late February.

Two of Riley Dodge's former Carroll teammates said Friday night that he had changed his mind and would play for the Mean Green. Riley Dodge did not return a message left on his cell phone. Todd Dodge could not be reached for comment.

A former Carroll player said that Riley Dodge told him Thursday to expect a surprise in the next few days and later heard that Dodge had committed to UNT. The player said he had not talked to Riley Dodge since.

A second former Carroll player said that Riley Dodge told him that he had changed his commitment and would play for the Mean Green.

If Riley Dodge does commit to UNT, he would be the best recruit Todd Dodge has landed in his short tenure with the Mean Green. Riley threw for more than 4,000 yards and 54 touchdowns as a junior last season when he led Carroll to its third consecutive Class 5A state title. Missouri, Tulsa, SMU and Rice were among the teams other than Texas and UNT to offer Riley a scholarship.

Todd Dodge has been on vacation the last several days and accompanied Riley to the Elite 11 passing camp in Las Vegas last week. A UNT official said the Dodge family is leaving on an extended vacation beginning Saturday morning.

Well crap. I kinda expected him to commit to UNT, but I was hoping otherwise.

And your off-season just gets longer and longer. Good luck securing your first committment.

Hey NTSU, we'll see what happens in September, when SMU torches NTSU in battle of the haves vs. the have-nots. I swore I wouldn't go elitest on anybody b/c I don't like it...but since you continue to show up around here like herpes, I figure I'll make an exception.

Forgive me, PPride.

this is a brewing recruiting scandal. Word on the streets is that NTSU had excessive contacts and visits with this prospect, was given an "allowance" and the keys to a late model automobile by the Head Coach of the Mean Machine. In this case Cheers and Burgers were provided daily by "associates" of the Head Coach. In fact, the Denton paper is reporting that Todd Dodge just got back from escorting this prospect to Las Vegas. Talk about lack of institutional control.

BTW Emmitt this has been confirmed by a very high placed source inside the UT program. You will see this confirmed in coming days.

Is there some sort of internet Valtrex (tm) the site could take to control outbreaks?

This really is great for North Texas. No doubt about it.

But, I could honestly care less about this because Giovanni Vizza is a better QB than Dodge.

What UNT should really be hoping for is for Tre Newton...Then they would have their heir apparent to Jamario.

Great post Stallion. Total lack of institutional control. Anyone who did not think that the Dodges were not a package deal must be incredibly naive.
