Tulsa Gets 4 Star BCS Transfer

WR Slick Shelly a transfer from the University of Tennessee has enrolled at Tulsa. He was a 4 star rated 5.8 No. 14 WR in the country coming out of High School. Also offered by LSU, and Oklahoma St. among others out of high school. Todd Graham is loading at WR for the 2008 season. I'll ask again-why is it that for 20 years SMU can't play this game that all our opponents can?

Really? "Slick Shelly"? With a name like that, he'd better be damn good.
As I recall, we got a BCS-conference less than a month ago, and at a position (DT) of need, no less. We don't get as many, because we can't get everyone in, among other reasons, but to say - ad nauseum - that SMU "can't play this game" is simply inaccurate. Again.

No. This is another guy that Arkansas recruited but he went to Tenn. So far he has been a washout which of course has all the Arkansas fans saying "we did not want him anyway". He is impressive on paper but has not yet shown anything on the field. That in no way means that I do not wish we could get him or someone of his caliber. This might be another that has gone to Tulsa due to the Malzahn-Arkansas relationship.

Tennessee lost about 90% of their catches from last year and this kid is leaving to get more playing time.
Take that for what its worth.

4 Stars in high school and had to transfer to a non-bcs school for playing time and Tennessee is not loaded at WR means the kid was overrated in HS

Tennessee isn't good or anything.
I'm going to go out on a limb and say any scholarship WR at Tennessee would be a very nice addition to any CUSA team regardless of his star rating or how he compares to what people expected out of highschool.

Those of you who were making fun of Xavier Webb's 1660 SAT might want to look at
Slick's rivals profile.

Your original link was technically a very slick (pun intended) thing to do Gravy Owl...but it was sort of a stealth link because unless you use a different text color or font there is no way to know that was a link unless you happened to run your cursor across it. That's not very likely since most of us SMU students and grads don't have to run our cursor along the text in order to read it.

Another Arkansas wide receiver has asked for and gotten his release to transfer. He has not decided where to go yet but he has sent all of his info to Tulsa. He was a Springdale kid who played for and was recruited by Malzahn, so I expect him to end up there.

Mrydel - you talking about Andrew Norman? 6'2'' 190lbs 3 star from Springdale.
Can't find anything where he has asked or been released but wouldn't doubt it in the end.

That's him. I forgot the name in a senior moment.
