No chance for this guy?

Are a trio of two star players good enough these days? I guess its something.

appears to be accurate to call him a sleeper in recruiting parlance-very little on the internet about him. Had offers from Ivy League Schools and service academies. Plays at Tulsa Holland Hall which is in the same conference as St. Mark's. Roughly 2A or low 3A Football.

You mean the same St. Mark's that has had four guys (Kalen and Kyle Thornton and the Acho brothers) accept scholarships to the University of Texas in the last 8 or so years? Oh, the shame of it all...

Incidentally, Mavs prez Terdema Ussery has a son there (same first name, I think), who I gather is a very bright prospect for next year's class.

Yep that's the St. Marks-I'm a proud alumnus. All 5 of those kids were ranked as Texas Top 50s at one point in the recruiting process. One of the 3 Thorton brothers dropped lower in the Top 100 but they weren't in a recruiting battle between the Ivy Leagues and Service Academies either. Don't know what possible relevance there is to comparing this kid to National Gold Chips whpse father played years in the NFL. Generally the competition at that level is closer to 2A ball than 3A ball. In my class for example there were only 69 seniors most of which were highly recruited for academics not athletics.

Rumor has it a tape of last year's game between Tulsa Holland Hall and St. Mark's would get PonyFans very excited. I haven't seen it, so I can't give specifics, but I was told Allen basically "had his way" with Acho, the kid headed to UT. That's not to belittle the accomplishments of Acho at all — he earns all those accolades for a reason. But apparently our newest blocker fared extremely well, at least in that game.

Per Rivals, "I'm not talking to anybody else," Allen said. "If they plan on honoring my scholarship offer(SMU), then I plan on sticking with my commitment. I haven't heard anything really about who they want to hire or what guys they're talking to.

BTW, Rivals ranks Matt 2 stars and 5.2. They also rank him as the 20th best prospect in the state of Oklahoma.
