The Courier-Journal
In the age where internet message boards are part of the daily routine for many fans of college sports, it’s nearly impossible to find a hidden gem in recruiting.
The fans and analysts devour every mention of potential recruits and jump at the chance to talk about players with even the slightest interest in their schools.
But every now and then one slips through the cracks. And that’s what has happened with Missouri big man Garrett Stutz.
“He’s a unique sleeper,â€

Put him on a "Triple Towers" front line with Tomasz Kwiatkowski and Bamba Fall.

Recent Rivals article indicates that Stutz enjoyed his visit to Northwestern this past week, but still plans to visit SMU within the next few weeks. He has 9 schools on his list and hopes to cut that in half before making a final decision.

The big man was @ Kansas State this past weekend.
Plans on being @ Kentucky for Midnight Madness.
He's going to be tough to get. Tremendous competition.
Hopefully he will make it to Big D for a visit.
Once he's here anything is possible.

Hopefully it will be a warm day and McIlvaney Beach will be chock full of sun worshipers and various stages of undress.

McIlvaney beach is no more...if they are smart they will take him by the Dedman Center sun area...

"Another prospect, big man Garrett Stutz of Kansas City, Mo., also plans to attend Madness. He's narrowed his list of schools to five, but declined to name because he had not contacted all the coaches. He did say he planned to visit Marquette and SMU."

Rivals article on Stutz as of today says he has narrowed it down to 4 schools, with Kentucky being the leader, and we are one of them. Kentucky has not offered. This is some nice company. Does anyone know if he is for sure visiting this weekend?
Many future college stars made their way to Rupp Arena this past weekend, and whether they were already committed or still going through the process, all had to be impressed by the gala thrown by UK.
Garrett Stutz, the late-blooming, 7-foot center from Kansas City (Mo.) North Kansas City, was one of those in attendance. He was so impressed that some schools were cut from a list that, at one time, had numbered up to 11.
"I have pretty much narrowed it down to four schools," Stutz said. "Kentucky, Wichita State, SMU, and Marquette are my finalists. Kentucky, right now, is the frontrunner."

Didn't Tubbs have us in on some big names, but just couldn't close the deal...I hope Doherty can close the deal.

The last center we had from Kansas City was Jon Koncak. I am sure Doherty and the player know that

If Kentucky offers he's gone, if not, SMU will get him.

Kentucky just pulled their offer to Ralph Sampson Jr. b/c he didn't commit during Midnight Madness. Kid was going to pull the trigger by the end of October. Pretty poor form on the part of Gillespie, but whats new.
Anyway, not sure if this bumps Stutz up the UK food chain or not
