Dodge Gets 5th 3 Star/5th Commit from SMU Offeree(Updated)Cedar Hill Athlete James Hamilton commits to North Texas. Easily this is shaping up as North Texas' best class in awhile. I think they've got 7 players rated higher than or equal to our highest rated recruit. Offered by SMU, Tulsa, Rice, UTEP, Kentucky (visit), Washington St., and others
later today North Texas got a commitment from a pretty highly recruited DB John Shorter from Lake Highlands that has expressed considerable interest in SMU. Offers SMU, Tulsa and Iowa St. Rated 5.3 That makes at least 5 kids that SMU was strongly recruiting who now have either commited or whose commitment to other schools is imminent. The coaching search is now officially starting to bite us in the [deleted]. Feisty Frog also reports that the two kids mentioned by Mr. Bell are being strongly persued by TCU.
You must be very popular at http://www.gomeangreen.com/forums/.
We don't care. Get us a coach, and let him recruit. I really shouldn't drink and type.
For those of you who were so impressed by DMN Area Top 100 Recruits-North Texas State and their high school Coach now has 7 commitments on that list. BTW 71 of the Area Top 100 have already committed-some of the remaining players are likely academic risks. This ain't 1980
Re: Dodge Gets 2nd 3 Star in Two Days(Updated)
Shorter was a definite to SMU until the coaching change and the delays. Really a great kid and UNT getting a good one in him.
Well signing day is not until February. A high profile new coach who is also a strong recruiter may change some of these committments. Of course, do not know who that coach may be and if he fits this profile.
I love coming on to ponyfans and reading about NTSU and the kids who will be cleaning my toilets someday...
No, she is full time. Once you train them to spell and write, you keep them.
First you say the Area Top 100 list means nothing, because the players are marginal (or some other euphamism). Now you're using that list as the benchmark to suggest that North Texas State is kicking our butts? Well which is it?
It's pretty obvious. The Area top 100 isn't all that, but even if you use such a low bar to measure it, NTCC is pwning us. -CoS
DMN Top Area 100, not a good measure of football talent? The Dallas Ft Worth area produces more D1 prospects than any other
area in the State of Texas, as per Dave Campbells Texas Football. Comparing the DMN Top 100, and the FWST's Top 100, it is interesting only a very few players that make both top 100 lists, which may show the DMN favors the Dallas area players, while the FWST favors the Ft Worth area players. None the less, just about every player listed will have D1 offers from major college programs across the country. Last year, North Texas had one or two DMN Top 100 area players that commited and signed with North Texas. Recruiting DFW is going Green! With the last 2 commitments Coach Dodge received, North Texas has 7 players from the DMN Top 100 area list. How about that! Coach Todd Dodge put recruiting the DFW area as a priority. Looks like his recruiting efforts are very successful here in the DFW area! No doubt, there will be more and more DFW talent commiting to North Texas, as well as talent from across the state. Outstanding!
Re: DMN Top Area 100, not a good measure of football talent? You mean papers, when they don't really have any idea between two players, will pick the guy whose family and friends and coaches and fans might buy more of their papers? Shocking! I really shouldn't drink and type.
