As I mentioned on a thread in the football board, according to today's (Sunday) DMN, South Oak Cliff's Kydarian Wilkins, a former Baylor commit, had is scholarship pulled by new Baylor coach Art Briles. "Its terrible," South Oak Cliff coach Chris Gilber said. "The kid stopped looking around when he committed to Baylor. Now his world has changed sinc Baylor dropped him. "Wilkins, No. 50 on SportsDay's Area Top 100, currently has a lone offer to Texas State.
I would imagine Briles has burnt his bridges at South Oak Cliff by pulling the scholarship offer. If June is smart, he will look hard at this kid and give him a scholarship offer to build up goodwill for next year at one of the premier football schools in the area!

Texas Football Magazine ranked Kydarian among the Top 20 defensive backs in the State.

Sounds like he'd fit a need in our secondary.

First thing I worry about from SOC is grades. I suppose he had enough to do Baylor, though.

You mean compared to the other giants in our secondary?
I'd take 5'8" over 5'11" if he can cover.

Hmm. I think I mentioned him in a thread in the football section.....now that Jones is here and barring any academic problems.......you guys can definitely get him...let me do some digging........
5. Kydarian Wilkins (Full qualifier. Texas Tech/Kansas. Kansas is doing what SMU can.)

It's not like Baylor has been recruiting out of MENSA meetings in recent years.

5'8" is really short for a CB...it is very possible that he will match up against quite a few WR with a half foot on him.
THat said, I think we need new blood and if the kid can play lets bring him in and find a spot

Hopefully, he meant that we are showing we are able to recruit locally. If not, no idea where he was going with that.
