Saw him play this season as Marshall is close to EF, and I called color commentary on the radio for EF vs. West Rusk b/c the main guy was out sick. Loved it, and I hope that I get to do it next year.
Curry is in 2A EF; he was a man among boys out there. Tall and strong...he was supposedly a UTEP commit per the other announcer. I only got to see him toss the ball infrequently. He ran a slimmed down version of the Veer. He's not particularly fast, and I'd definitely call him a pocket QB, but he's tough too. He wasn't afraid to go head-to-head with a DE or LB. What's funny is that from the stands, he's a dead-ringer for Matt Leinart. He tosses the long ball as easily as he breathes, and he is pretty accurate over the middle for as little as they used him. Doesn't have that quick a release, but he can throw on the run as well as across his body. Is definitely going to need a redshirt in Jones' offense, but going deep and true isn't going to be a problem for him, IMHO.
The other announcer, Bryan Partee, even made a comment about my having gone to SMU and how I'd feel about seeing him a Pony (talk about queuing it up, baby!)

. Of course, I obliged.

Bryan's dad played for SMU in the 1960s (Jack Partee) and went on to San Diego, so he wasn't unaccustomed to pro-SMU talk.
I even ripped on the swinging gate b/c EF ran it...and they threw a pick that was returned for 2 pts against them as they tried to work it.
