Tim Curry... is this guy newly interested?

As much as I loved his work in the film "Clue", I was surprsied to see that Scout mentions Curry as having interest in SMU. I really don't recall his name on there before.

His Star rating doesn't match his offers, but there you have it:

But Tim was pretty good on Scary Movie2. Seriously, that list of schools make me wonder why he has the rating he has.

Maybe he could morph into that giant devil thing he played in "Legend". That would make for one hell of a MLB.

Rivals lists Southern Miss, while Scout lists SMU. I guarantee this is just a mistaken acronym.

IF he has already moved on to the Elyesian Fields how the hell is he going to play?

Saw him play this season as Marshall is close to EF, and I called color commentary on the radio for EF vs. West Rusk b/c the main guy was out sick. Loved it, and I hope that I get to do it next year.

Curry is in 2A EF; he was a man among boys out there. Tall and strong...he was supposedly a UTEP commit per the other announcer. I only got to see him toss the ball infrequently. He ran a slimmed down version of the Veer. He's not particularly fast, and I'd definitely call him a pocket QB, but he's tough too. He wasn't afraid to go head-to-head with a DE or LB. What's funny is that from the stands, he's a dead-ringer for Matt Leinart. He tosses the long ball as easily as he breathes, and he is pretty accurate over the middle for as little as they used him. Doesn't have that quick a release, but he can throw on the run as well as across his body. Is definitely going to need a redshirt in Jones' offense, but going deep and true isn't going to be a problem for him, IMHO.

The other announcer, Bryan Partee, even made a comment about my having gone to SMU and how I'd feel about seeing him a Pony (talk about queuing it up, baby!) 8) . Of course, I obliged. Bryan's dad played for SMU in the 1960s (Jack Partee) and went on to San Diego, so he wasn't unaccustomed to pro-SMU talk.

I even ripped on the swinging gate b/c EF ran it...and they threw a pick that was returned for 2 pts against them as they tried to work it.

Rivals says QB Tim Curry is commited to UTEP.

He's been committed for about 12 months-one of the earliest commitments in the recruiting season-but he's looked around several times. I'm not sure this is new interest. I think I saw SMU mentioned with his name before.

I hope now that JJ is here, that Curry and alot of other players realize SMU is a great place to be if they want to be part of something special.
