Yes, it's true.
At least that coach is mature and realistic about things.
Nice to have Princeton as a "fallback" school.

If we don't end up with a full recruiting class, the question is... why did we pull scholarships?
I'm no expert but it just seems kind of weird to me. Something is better than nothing, I would think.
It's a crappy job but someone's gotta do it.

No reason to have guys standing around who have zero chance of playing for a decent D1 program. It's a disservice to these guys too - if my dream was to play college football, I'd rather be a starter at Princeton than working my arss off for 4-5 years with no realistic chance of contribution...

I doubt that we will see a full class this year...but just cause they don't sign this spring/summer doesn't mean scholarships go to waste.
If we have some left over any recruits signed (provided they enter school before spring semester) next year can count to this years class up to 25 scholies. Maybe JJ wants to have hte ability to take 30 kids after a full year of recruiting, thinking that he will get five jucos or early enrollees.

So lets see, of Bennett's 8 early commits this year:
1 left for TCU, although even when he committed to us he said he was waiting on TCU
1 left for UTEP
1 left for Idaho
2 we pulled their offer and they had no other D1a scholarship offers
3 remain, only 1 of which (Ellison) has a confirmed offer from another program than ours.
Am I correct in all this? And do not give me the crap about how recruiting tanked as our season did because all these players were our commits before we royaly sucked it up on the field I believe.
** edit ** I forgot about Fuller and added him to the list.

there were very early signs of desperation in the players Bennett chose to offer early. Most of these guys shouldn't have received any consideration for offers, if at all, until well right now. You don't offer sleepers in July.

Thought Cole Beasley had an offer to play at Air Force???
Essentially JJ has cleaned the cupboard and lets hope he can fill it up again.

should you really include offers from schools that can take 75-80 kids one way or another? aren't you really comparing SMU to the Air Force Prep Academy if you include those comparisons?

Serious question and not meant as a sarcastic remark:
Don't know the situation regarding Air Force scholarship? Why can't we say that Cole has a scholarship there?

1. I didn't mention it bc I don't know if he was offered or not, although I know there was interest from them.
2. Stallion's point is Air Force can offer some ridiculous number of ships and play people on what essentially are Freshman and JV teams etc. He will elaborate for you I am sure.

Last reference on this, I promise, but are we no longer welcome to recruit at Holland Hall?
