According to Mustang Maniacs
Aledo receiver Cole Loftin has been committed to play for Utah for the better part of four months. However, only a week after reaffirming his commitment to the Utes on an official visit, the two-star wideout seems to have had a change of heart. "I'm committed to SMU now. [I committed] on Sunday. I've always liked SMU. I like their coaching staff and what they're doing right now, and it's just a better thing for me," he explained

I didnt see Sledge play high school, but I've watched both he and Loftin alot over the past two years. Two completely different styles of player. Zach is quintessential gym rat but never gave an impression he had an ability to take it on any play. Cole is, pound for pound, one of the best all-around athletes in North Texas and is a much better open field threat than Zach.
As you can see from Cole's film, he is literally a threat to break it from the line of scrimmage at any point on the field. He will be ideal in the slot on the bubble route that Jones employs so well. He'll be at full speed by the time he hits whatever seem is there and his vision is unreal.
I provided color for two seasons for Aledo. He wanted to stay in Texas from Day One but couldnt get anyone on the former staff to just take a look at him on film and gauge his potential. The father of his girlfriend is a family friend and he called last week saying Jones got him in for a visit. I havent been that excited about SMU in about 8 years.
I was pulling for Paul Johnson for really only one reason: so Cole could run his option offense. Instead, I'll take June Jones and Cole in the slot surrounded by others with the same ability to get to an endzone.
For what its worth, Patton has a serious mancrush on the kid.

I'll bet Loftin never single-handedly carried an entire family of refugees out of their village and away from the hands of the invading VC during the Tet offensive while sucessfully leading his entire platoon through a jungle minefield.

I like the fact that he CANNOT be tackled and scores TD on every touch. We need a player that can't go down, EVER!

yah i saw that... he looks good, not blazing fast but runs extremely well. lets his blocks set up down field, good vision, etc.
