Stallion, you need to get up and get to work. I need some info on who is visiting this week-end and how many. What do you think we pay you to do around here??

I've tried to tell you that not much happens on the last weekend. I'm sure SMU will have a some recruits in but the final weekend hole is not the best slot to come out of the gate in a horse race. More likely to be sleepers otherwise, we'd know all about them. We do have 2 decent OLM recruits we are waiting on in Free and Foltz.

I think Foltz is visiting TCU this week-end. TCU is only giving 16-18 scholarships this year so they only have a few left. Think they are at 13 right now.

For example if you do a search for remaining uncommitted Texas recruits who have not made definite plans or narrowed the list to definite finalists, there are only 5 three star or higher uncommitted players left(out of about 160 players)-the key is that none of these kids have had a single update in 2-3 months nor do they have any reported visits which is a good sign that there are academic issues. Also a pretty good list of unsigned JUCOs with probably the same issues. Might be able to snag a few kids whose sole dream is to play in a BCS conference and who are being strung along by BCS schools as second choice if their final offers aren't taken-that happens sometimes this late. It will be interesting to see if SMU takes a shot to see if if some of the kids might be late qualifiers.

But there may be some here this weekend who have committed somewhere else.

Those are the ones I was wondering about.

I've heard rumors over the last few weeks that some of the top recruits who were either committed or strongly looking at SMU before Jones was hired were interested in SMU again-just haven't seen any concrete evidence of that. I'm a little surprised that NTSU has not lost a single committed player to any one. Heck Tulsa lost about 8 in this recruiting season. I've heard one NTSU commit is still looking around at A&M-Royce Hill. I'm admitedly a big fan of Todd Dodge but I fully expected him to lose a couple of good recruits once some of the coaching changes shook out-but so far I have not seen much by way of written confirmation.

If so, I doubt we would want to give the schools they have commited to a heads up on them being here...now would we?

I think it is very likely WR Deonte Patrick is likely visiting this weekend based on this story we discussed last weekend.
Patrick SMU Bound?

Deonte Patrick was receiving heavy interest from Hawaii, but now that June Jones is at SMU it is the Mustangs who are tracking him the closest. Bobby Petrino and the Arkansas Razorbacks also turned up the heat, but is it too little too late?
It is getting close to signing day and Deonte Patrick, a 6-foot-2, 190-pound wide receiver from Klein Forest High in Texas is trying to finalize his signing day plans.

Just drove past Ford and saw about 25 to 30 high school kids gathered outside the Loyd Sports Center. Now I have to get ready for my flight back out to San Diego but I'll drive by again in a few hours.
