So that's 22. How many do we end up with?
I'm betting we exceed 25, not fall short as Coach Jones said we might. Plagiarize!
Let no one else's work evade your eyes. Remember why the good lord made your eyes. So don't shade your eyes, just Plagiarize, plagiarize, plagiarize! (Only be sure always to call it, please .... "research.")
Scout.com has these two as 3 stars. TE 38 Taylor Thompson TE 58 Andrew Ellison
It may be me, but it looks like the dimensions of the OL/DL who have committed to us appear to be larger than is past year. Of course, their ability level is another matter.
The Honolulu kid is short but I he's turned into something. Perfect size for your nose guard. This rush of commitments has caught me by surprise. I really thought we were going to be judicious with them and probably announce a class of about 12-15. Hope 1/3 of these guys can make a difference.
Looks to me that ALL the lineman are SMALLER than what you'd expect at the D1A level except for the Center position. 6-5+ is what you look for at Tackle, 6-4+ is what you hope to get at guard-6-3 sometimes. You look for about 6-3 in a Center although I think most would agree that there are plenty of successful centers even at 6-2 or even 6-1.
True, but what is the average height of the starting O-lines in CUSA? And what was the average height of the starting line at Hawaii? I think we can make a dent with smaller guys, get some wins, and hopefully the bigger guys start to follow in subsequent recruiting classes.
It appears, you're trying to compare this BCS kids. I'm not because that's unrealistic until we start developing a pattern of success. I'm talking about kids who fall into the CUSA, MWC and WAC. I'm going by what we are getting vs. what we were getting in Bennett. I just don't remember us picking up a 6-7 kid who will play DE. I still height can be overrated. My first concern is the feet. If they can't move on them, then their height doesn't help them.
No it appears you are still grading on the traditional SMU curve. 9 out of 10 TCU Offensive Linemen on their two deep meet or exceed the general standards I posted. Just tell me when we are going to start grading on the Top 25 curve-that is the goal I thought.
