According to rivals Dan Morrison is recruiting this young man. It says he was recruiting him at Hawaii and I'm sure that will be SMU. So I guess we will be in a dogfight with Arizona, UCLA, and Colorado for the services of this talented young man. Sooner or later we are going to win one of these battles with the big boys.

Jim Harbaugh at Stanford is going after him hard as well. He has a 4.5 GPA and a 1900+ SAT score as a junior.

4.5 on what scale? And when did the SAT go above 1600?

Troll.

It's up to 2400 or some such. Happened a few years back.

They added a writing section to it, which allows for more political correctness. It also has added another hour or more so that test is becoming a much bigger ordeal than it used to be. Many schools aren't using this in their admittance formula yet until it is proven out over time. 2400 is now the maximum score for the SAT.

You can get a 4.5 on a 4 point scale by taking honors courses

Shoot. That's nothing. I pulled a 4.5 on an 8 point scale back at HP many years ago! Didn't even have to take an AP course to do it.

Was the half point for effort?

No, it was because he defied the odds and actually spelled his name wrong on the test. The professor gave him pity points.

I don't think its possible to even get a 4.5 on a 4.0 scale with AP courses. 2003 Plano valedictorian ended up at MIT. She had to take P.E. 'off campus' so it would not count towards her GPA because even a 100 in PE would bring her GPA down.

Yeah. I tried to do all the Physical Education I could off campus in high school.

Close, and I am still doing it. I wonder if you will be able to at the same stage.
