well it's nice he's a center and all. But can he play the point?

I couldn't opne the link, but I assume its about Frank Ben-Eze. I've seen Ben-Eze a ton of times and he's an absolutely jacked physical specimen. His hands aren't the softest around, nor is he polished, but he'd be a good get.

Here's the catch. He lives w/a family in Maryland whose son plays for Maryland. Suffice it to say, they think nothing of Doh. The only reason they allowed the kid to play for Amaker was b/c its Harvard.

The same thing everybody in the ACC says, "very good recruiter, a psycho behind the scenes, doesn't nurture quality relationships w/the players, and a very very average bench coach.'

I've changed a lot over the past ten years. Do you not think Doh has the ability to change? Out of the three bad characteristics you mentioned, coaching ability on the bench would be the toughest to change.

Do's probably come a long way since his UNC days in terms of temperment but probably still has a long way to go. Ability to coach from the bench should improve but a lot of that's just God given talent.

You hammer him every chance you get but what do you think about his potential for improvement?

I would like to read the whole article where they said that. Or did they tell you that personally?

I don't really hammer him every chance I get. I happen to like the Doh hire and think talent acquisition is the biggest obstacle in the way of SMU and great things. If there is one thing Doh can do, it's evaluate talent and sell himself/the program.

I'm just not blind to his downside and was very close to the situation during his stint at Carolina. Sure it's possible he's grown, but there are more then a few red flags already, in his two year tenure on the Hilltop, that leads me to believe these are personality traits, not aberrations.

Now, the Maryland player who Ben Eze lives with is Dave Neal. His family is very close to the Terp program & Gary Williams. They know all about Doh, for the good and bad, from his days at Carolina. Whether their perceptions match where Doh is now, in his professional head space, doesn't really matter. His rep was cemented on the big stage and the only way that changes is for SMU to dance, become a serious mid-major, and restore a career.
