I don't know. I've heard of him, which means he must be a really good JC player, but I think you're right - there's got to be a lot of naivete (and horrible advice) in the equation here, too.

This kid played at Gulf Shores HS... The place is the closest you can get to being a diploma mill without actually being a diploma mill.

I thought the NBA was now requiring that rookies be at least 19 years old.

They did. He's at the Juco level now, so he meets this criteria.

Another reason why the NBA is sinking in its caliber of play. Half of each roster is made up kids who are not physically or mentally ready for this level of play. They turn out to be projects and amount to zero.
Thanks to this trend, the NBA has become garbage basketball.
