For you soccer fans out there, the HS Game Time section of the March 20th paper indicates that Coppell junior forward Ben Hill has orally committed to SMU. He has 39 goals this year and is the school's career scoring leader with 58 goals.

I posted this several months ago in the other sports section. He is a 2009 recruit who plays for the Dallas Texans, one of the top national club teams. He cannot sign until next February.

Stupid me. I thought that this was the recruiting section. I guess that all other recruiting information is reserved for the "other sports section."

Lighten up! I agree that there is no good reason why "other sports' recruiting cannot be discussed in the recruiting section. However, that is not what generally happens especially with soccer.. I try to keep everyone that cares advised about SMU soccer recruiting to the extent I can by using numerous outside sources. Schellas is pretty closed mouthed. I post it in the other sports because that is where soccer fans go for information as far as I can tell. Glad you are interested.

Scott Geppert played well before getting hurt, and Dane Saintus really had a strong season, especially in the second half - I've even heard MLS types talk about Saintus as a potential pro. Kenny Cooper's younger brother is headed to the Hilltop next fall - don't know much about him as a player, other than the fact that he's big and reportedly can score.
Not sure about the other recruits.
