This just came up on scouts.com.

Arguably the top signal-caller in the country this coming fall resides with the defending National Champions. CCSF QB Jeremiah Masoli (6-0, 200) has a gun for an arm, quick feet and a winner’s mentality. He’s also a beast in the weight room.

By the way, CCSF's QB coach is now Hawaii's QB coach (Rolo). Rolo was an excellent QB at Hawaii under JJ and I would think that he would have a *very* good link to Masoli because he was his position coach last season!

The trouble for Hawaii is that in 2009 Hawaii will have Funaki, both JC QBs they signed this year (Alexander and Rausch), and Austin/Santos/Kepoo. I had always assumed they would be looking for a high school QB or two in 2009, in which case Rolo's link to Masoli wouldn't matter. But for a recruit like that, maybe Hawaii would go for another JC QB...

The only thing I would be worried about, is how much JJ would want him to use his feet. He has great speed at quarterback, and if his throwing is as good as advertised, Jones' system would be great. He also has interest in Oregon, who runs the option-based pass as well as anyone. I'd love to see him as a Mustang, but Oregon probably has the best chance here.
