I wonder if the ponies have contacted this kid. His dad is still president and CEO of the Mavs. You would think he would want for his kid to stay close to home.

I heard there's a very good chance he will end up in Austin.

I've seen him play. Very impressive athlete.

Hmmm ... Ussery, Drewery, Haynes, Zimmerman ... that group would ruin the rumor that Coach Jones only likes little guys. Seems to me he likes receivers who can catch, regardless of height.

In Austin with the other St. Marks kids. Have they offered him?

Article on rivals says he hasn't been offered yet but he is heading down for a visit shortly with the Acho brothers

UT does not appear to have scholarships available for many WRs in their 2009 class and Timmons already committed. With their 17 commits and their huge need at DT (McFarland, Howell offered) and the offer out to DE Kennard, I do not see how they could offer Ussery. They just had too many WRs commit in recent years and big needs at other positions (check out the DT depth chart, numbers are extremely low).
So, it will be no negative reflection on Ussery if/when UT does not give him an offer. Some other school will be getting an excellent player!

UT has a habit of giving scholarships to players at positions in which they have stockpiled talent. And then you never here from that player again sometimes.

Like QB-turned-WR Robert Timmons.
Otherworldy athlete who did nothing in Austin. Anyone know whatever became of that guy?

I believe he flunked out. When you recruit a team full of 4-5 stars not everybody gets to play. Its really no surprise that some are busts-there are only 22 positions on the field. UT has recruited 62 4 and 5 star recruits in the last 5 eligible classes-not including the highly recruited 3 stars.

Talked to dad about his son, he wants him to get the best education possible. Heard Stanford was a possibility, or that they had already offered. Terdema wants his son to go to Harvard, we'll see about that
