SMU GETS VERBAL FROM PAUL McCoy

Confirmed on both rivals and scout, Paul McCoy give verbal to SMU!! Things are looking better and better for next year. Our weakest position could arguably now be our best with the additions of both William and McCoy. Throw in Papa, Bamba, and GT transfer basketball may turn around quicker than I thought...see you at the games 8)

I understands that he plays football as well at WR. He might be a dual sport player.

A little help. Wasn't there a story recently posted that said he crossed us off and it down to Kentucky and Virginia? Or do I have him confused with somebody else?

You are correct. However, I guess the story was incorrect. If you look at Doh's blogs from April 25th it appears he went out to see Paul and closed the deal.

Also note from the link I posted above listing the top rated PGs in the nation for 2008 according to Scout...

The 6 players ranked behind McCoy committed/signed with: Mich. St., Gonzaga, Florida St., Arkansas, Washington, Kansas.

The 4 players ranked ahead of McCoy committed/signed with: Clemson, Ohio St, Alabama, North Carolina.

Impressive company to say the least.

Thank you, sir. When you look at where the top 15 guards are going and see us in that list, that is running in the high-rent district. Congratulations to the staff. I don't know how much immediate help he can give, but I hope there will an impact.

This also turns to the roster. Although we have talked about Spencer being gone, I heard at his auction dinner, Doherty said 1 or 2 of the Nov. signees would go to a prep school. I'm guessing it was Haynes and/or Clarke. I would think that would open this up to McCoy coming here.

Icon, if you XTC or Friarwolf can add something to that, thanks in advance.

PS -- nice to have the Crum Center as a recruiting tool.
