If he's from Copperas Cove, he already has a very good work ethic and weightlifting fundamentals/technique, if the folks that have been working with him are who I think they are

It is really a nice change to see an SMU coaching staff going after guys without fear of the big boys. Fairly impressive offer list for Brock, and I love his size for a LB

I should've looked more closely at the kid's name before my previous post. His dad, Reb-short for Raymond Earl Brock-is the "who I think" guy I referenced above who I'm sure has his son as a weightlifting machine. Powercleans, stepups, squats are second nature for this young man. I first met Tanner 16 years ago, but at the time was unable to determine a likely Rivals rating. His dad was a LB at Indiana, and a strength coach in the Arizona juco circuit before coaching in D2 then ultimately moving back to Texas. Guaranteed this kid is an animal, and is very, very disciplined.

lol yep. I just saw Copperas Cove and started typing. Then I read later. And I'm sure you are aware big brother Logan (whom I remember as a 3 or a 4 year old) is at TCU.

Yes, and he has a younger brother that is supposedly the best of the bunch (football wise). A very good family.
Tanner was 1st team all-state as a soph & Jr.

Not too surprising. Big brother is there, and some older relative (grandpa? uncle?) went to med school @ TCOM in Ft Worth

Actually Tanner is 6' 3.5" 220 lbs. and probably a 4.7.
Logan is 6' 4" 252 lbs. and about a 4.75
Cooper is going to be the biggest of the three, as he is 6' 3.5" 205 lbs. at age 16.
Reb Brock played LB at Indiana, but was far from a star. Just your average run of the mill college football player.

Actually their grandmother and uncle were both SMU grads.

Don't know the truth but Fiesty Frog on the TCU board has been claiming he has been a quiet commitment to TCU for some time -but I'm not sure the services show a TCU commitment at the present time.
