Possible good news, from the scout board ponystampede.
Marquis Frazier, the big defensive tackle from Navarro College will take an unofficial visit to SMU Thursday, if things goes well, he could be the newest commit. Things are looking very good at this point. We will keep you posted. I spoke to Marquis and he could be very close to making a decision. Also Bennie Thomas will be on campus Monday for a visit. He is a defensive back from Pima CC and could sign and be able to play this fall.

That would be good. We need help at both those positions.

Sometimes, I just have to do a double take on this recruiting business. Because of where we are now and where we have been in the past is just so weird.
I hope these guys have got something and can help. BTW, big shout out to SMU86 and Lotus who are quickly establishing themselves on the recruiting beat and keeping us informed.
Thanks, guys.

Frazier was a three star DE out of HS, when he was 6'3 or 6'4 and weighing anywhere from 230 to 260, depending on where you read the article. Interest and/or offers from Ok St, Iowa St, Kansas, Kansas St, Tech, aTm. Not bad!

Note that Marquis was a non-qualifier out of high school.

OK, rivals lists offers from Arkansas, Iowa State, Kansas, K State, Nebraska, Ok State, A&M, and Tech out of high school in '07.
I'd say without question Frazier would be our most highly rated recruit in some time. Rated a 5.6 and the 67 player in Texas.[/b]

Probably the highest rated player since Sr. Vincent Chase, who was rated 5.6 and #50 on the Texas 100.

Would Frazier be eligible to play in 2008? That could be a huge pick up given how thin we appear to be at DT
