QB Drew Allen

New report up on Scout. I'm still a little surprised SMU hasn't offered as he seems more interested in SMU than we are in him-but reports are that he had an excellent camp and SMU Coaches were impressed. He has been verified at 6-5.5, 198. You look at him and wonder how strong this kid could be after four years of strength and development. Wonder if it might be mobility that holds some schools back since they list him at 4.9. However, he has plenty of offers: Colorado, Duke, Ole Miss, Purdue, Vandy, Wake Forest, Kansas St, UTEP and NMSU. To me he seems like the kinda of kid that could develop into an NFL QB. Plus he looks like a Phi Delt First Round Draft Choice and would probably get lots of Chicks as the Local QB Stud.

So what does that mean? He has black rim glasses and a pocket protector.

And a Tahoe.

Good lord, the Phi Delts are nerds now? Things have changed. Back in the day most of the engineering students went GDI and parties with all the frats.

False. He'd have a swoop haircut and a deviated septum.

The Tahoe is still viable.

I'm recently removed from the Hilltop and to my recollection the Phi Delts were the super-rich dudes who didn't talk to anyone but themselves. Needless to say coming from a tiny town in East Texas the son of two public school teachers they didn't want anything to do w/ me. Oh well, at least now I can have scoreboard.

Getting QBs who are Phi Delt First Round draft choices should not be underestimated:

McIllhenny(2 SWC Championships and Cotton Bowl in the 1980s)
Mac White (SWC Championship and Cotton Bowl in 1966)
Gil Johnson(SWC Championship and Cotton Bowl in the late 1940s)

not to mention Don Meredith

We talked to everyone else for a whole semester. All pretty fair stereotypes though. Spring break trips on the G-Phi were memorable.

Nonetheless, Stal layoff on the man-crush.

I'm from a small east texas town and a middle class family and I was a Phi Delt. Maybe they just didn't like you?

Also, although he wasn't a QB, the greatest all-time SMU football player that was also a Phi-Delt was obviously Doak.

Doak Walker played intramurals?
If not, he was an SMU football player.

Just giving you grief.
Doak was a great Mustang — arguably the greatest ever — but I've gotten threads deleted (I think) by turning a football discussion into a greek argument.
