Great job on recruiting to get the number 1 center in the state. I almost want to say WE'RE BACK!
Quote:
Pledges continue to pour in this week for the Southern Methodist University’s football program. June Jones picked up his sixth commitment for the 2009 class Thursday afternoon when the Lone Star state’s No. 1 rated center by Scout.com.

Very nice pickup. Bet he ends up at Tackle.

Stallion, I like the move to OT. He has length and speed; his frame should easily facilitate another 20-30# of muscle after working with Viloria for a year.

Here's another quote from the Scout article that I really like.
Hughes was also impressed with his coach in charge of recruiting him.
"Coach Reinebold did a great job," Hughes said. "He is a great guy, very easy to talk to. He made me feel very much at home at SMU."

As much as we credit JJ, Reinebold is pretty damn good at this recruiting stuff.

Don't lose sight of Jeff's lineage...he coached under the best recruiter we ever had, Ron Meyer.

Offers SMU, Rice, Syracuse, Southern Miss, UCF and Houston. Based on recent stories from Scout and Rivals. I wonder why Baylor hasn't offered? His Dad played for Baylor. Alan Zepeda at Scout pointed out his Dad is over 6-6 and so Hughes is likely to get much bigger. It might be hard for some our midget QBs to see over Hughes at 6-5 if he plays Center. Its also pretty difficult for a Center to get leverage on those smaller DTs at 6-5.
