The new article on Taylor McHargue on Stampede says, " ... said that coaches told him they were looking to take fourteen players and only one quarterback."

Yeah this is a bit concerning. However, attrition affects every college across the country and I fully expect to see some fallout after this season. As Stallion said, if there are some redshirt sophomores that aren't getting playing time/buying into June's system, it might be better for them and the school to part ways. Either way, I'm not overly concerned about our scholarship situation.

From what I have read, everyone appears to be buying into June's system. Now getting enough playing time might be another matter.

Ponymon,

Yeah that's what I meant. I'm sure the majority of our kids are buying into the system, but only so many guys can play. I probably should have worded that a little differently.

Of course, Coaches try to get commitments by using the Supply and Demand theory and quite frankly its not really untrue as we presently stand-we've got about 14 scholarships availiable-but the applicable deadline is 13 months away. Things change. But if you are an SMU OLM recruit you probably need to jump on board now. I think we get this type of post every year and every year I estimate about 6-8 over the projection. I don't think I've gone over yet. Still wished we hadn't given out so many last year-because we are in better negotiating position this year.

I am more concerned about the last Bennett class than the first Jones class.

Bey
Brock
Carrington
Givens
Gonzales
Griffin
Hickman
Hudman(lost scholarship-but will he return?)
Hudnall
E. Johnson
Brad Langford
Mapps
