After reading that article it seems that the young man has a good head on his shoulders.

Kid is a pretty good athlete with an excellent long jump for a Junior-just about 23 feet.

Yup - kid is seriously muscled up and a very sharp, level-headed guy. Good guy who DEFINITELY has his head screwed on straight. I've never seen him play, but based on his build and his demeanor, I'd love to see him at SMU.

Rivals article states that "My top schools are probably SMU and Kansas. At Kansas, they have really nice facilities and stuff. Then my aunt works at SMU. She's the assistant coach for the women's basketball team," White said. As for his commitment, White will most likely be making his decision here in the next couple of months.

I would always give the benefit of the doubt to a Dallas kid, especially since we’ve had so few over the past 20 years.

It is good publicity and helps make in-roads into Dallas recruiting. Plus he has an offer from last years’ Orange Bowl winner Kansas. Kansas has recruited well lately, including this years’ class.

Don’t know if we are withholding due to the number of scholarships available, but if that is the case, to me it is a no-brainer. Yank one of PB’s many unpolished ‘diamonds’.

How do you do this I have the understanding that once a letter of intent is signed by both parties that unless a player has an off field or grades issue
you could not pull his scholarship. :?:

They are not many 4 year full ride scholarships anymore from my understanding. Most are 1 year renewable scholarships. All a coach had to do is not renew a scholarship.

If his aunt works for the university, couldn't we give him a full ride without having to spend a scholarship?

She's not his aunt — friend of the family.

Could she still claim guardianship if we could pull some strings?
