Joey Fontana Espn Rating

He is rated an 80. This is, from what i can see ,our highest ESPN recruit in awhile. Correct me if im wrong but in the ESPN rating system i have concluded that a 70's ranking is like a 3 star and an 80's ranking is like a 4 star? If im correct thats pretty good news. This would mean ESPN is giving us 4 three star ratings and a 4 star. ( Rivals is giving us 4 three stars and scout 5) Also Christian Millers 75 ranking means maybe they see something in him the rivals people ( who gave him a 5.3) didnt see in him.

2008-76 Victor Jones
2007-79 Derrius Bell
2006-75 Phillip Burley

And i know people dont like the scout rating system but if you look at the 2009 center prospects SMU has 3 in the top 20! http://recruiting.scout.com/a.z?s=73&p= ... =9&yr=2009

80-89: Outstanding Prospect
Player has the ability to create mismatches against most opponents and could contribute as a true freshman.

That is what ESPN grades as

SuperPrep ranks Fontana as the 21st player in Louisiana. "Fontana's stock is beginning to climb. He is a hard-nosed center who is strong (315 bench, 500 squat, 285 power clean) and physical."

Hopefully 215 is a typo and it's 315 or 415

I had the same thought. That bench number has to be wrong. I'd think 315 if it's a typo.

If we are assuming typos, lets make it 1,215.

Is Phillip Burley ever going to see any playing time? Is he still on the team? I don't remember even seeing him catching passes from the QB's the last couple of Saturday practices.
