Actually, having 1 player in the NFL is an improvement over a typical year post DP.
Worse is # of players who have actually contributed to an NFL team...our track record over 20 years...ZERO

Wasn't Donald Mitchell a contributor to Tennessee a few years ago?

I think LT has contributed more to the NFL in 1 game than SMU has over the past 20 years....(excluding pre-dp players)

I'm not sure I understand the "Ouch". Doesn't this somehow prove your brilliance?

Yes, PonyFans.com's featured columnist Donald Mitchell was in the NFL until last year. He was playing for the Cowboys most recently until an injury forced him into retirement. Until this week/last week, frmr. SMU QB Richard "Buster" Bartel was a backup for the Cowboys as well (we recruited him at least, so I think he should still count).
In preseason ball, I was thrilled to see two former Mustangs (Bartel and Rogers) on national TV within the same minute. Hey. it's progress I guess.

getting your punter in the NFL is a sure sign of turning the corner for a program
But seriously, Morstead should have a nice career in the pros....he is a very good punter.
