Top 100 Basketball recruit Aaron Dotson

Looks like we have a formidable hill to climb on this one. However, it's good that Doherty is reaching out to these types of players. Here is a quote from his Tigerbait.com update:

"Dotson averaged 18.1 points for Rainier Beach where he will be a four-year starter this winter. Scheduled official visits to Miami, Fla. on Sept. 26 and Louisville Oct. 17 loom on the horizon while Dotson may also visit SMU officially in October and hometown school Washington uofficially."

Coach Doh always has his way to get to good recruits. SMU is just a bit more difficult to sell than UNC and C-USA is not very popular neither. In all, some recruits will buy into his way of playing -- it's Dean's way.

CUSA is a tougher sell than either the UNC and ACC or Notre Dame and the BE. For ND you have that whole Catholic HS feeder system to draw upon as well, although schools like Georgetown, Xavier, BC, St. John's, DePaul, Seton Hall, and Providence certainly water that down to some degree. Not a lot of Methodists out there who can play power forward.

Moody Coliseum does not help. Hopefullly, the Crum center will help overcome some of that.

We're in his Final 4 w/Louisville(leader), Washington and LSU. He's visited LSU and visits Washington in the next few weeks. Trip to the Ville is scheduled for Oct 17th, and if we're lucky and he doesn't verbal, we may get one the weekend of Oct 24th.

Nice to make the kids final list. Go Doh

This is the type of player we so desperately need. Reports say he has improved his mid-range game and he's a great finisher in the open court. Add Dotson to our backcourt of McCoy and Williams and we'll be getting somewhere.

Don't forget Haynes. I have no idea if he'll pan out, but he's a ridiculous athlete or so I'm told.

Also, Bawa Manuri is off the board. Gave a verbal to Crean and IU

I've never seen Justin play. I would love for us to finally get an athletic 2 who can score. Doh, when does practice start?

I have no idea what to expect from Haynes, but he shot pretty well from 3 in high school. Certainly, Doh seems to like his athleticism. Harp needs to step up

Midnight Madness is Oct 15th at most schools?
