SMU apparently also snuck a few past us as well, having received pledges from Duncanville WR Chayse Joubert and Corona (Calif.) DB K.J. Vaifale. Joubert comes as a bit of a surprise, considering we had heard very little on his recruiting front, but his sub-4.4 40 time should certainly be an attractive option for any offense that depends on speed. SMU and coach June Jones have assembled an impressive array of speedy athletes from 2008's and 2009's signing classes. Could one more year finally make the difference on the Hilltop? As for Vaifale, I can only say this -- I hope he's ready to play. Considering the sad state of affairs in SMU's secondary right now, he could step off the bus and right onto the field.

I guess Texas Football does not realize that Vaifale is stepping off the bus 2 years from now.

I'm guessing a Baylor fan club rag with "Texas" in the name isn't spending a lot of time studying up on California kids.

From my understanding he may not go on the mission trip. Just has to work on his grades.

after watching Joubert play last night his hands need work, two big drops. i don't really get it, kids with such limited stats, barely contributors on their HS team...

he did catch one pass for 38 yards which was called back because of holding the end zone. Safety. Joubert appears to be a projection recruit based on athletic ability. Never really lit it up even in private school leagues. Good height and speed though project to the next level. Has only played 3-4 games though so maybe he'll starting picking it up. I don't see how Scout has him as a legitimate 3 star though.
