I think he is redshirting so that he will have 3 years to play at SMU.

I think they said he was recovered from an injury and was going to start playing. Never heard anything after that however.

There was a story about the Navarro defense in the Corsicana Daily Sun yesterday and it included the defensive tackle rotation -- and no mention of Frazier.

Something's up. Rivals has the following quip about him:
The Latest: Frazier's looking to bounce back  9/15/2008
After not qualifying out of high school in 2007, defensive end Marquis Frazier has now hit another stumbling block on his road back to Division-I football. Found out why the Navarro Junior College sophomore has not...
I do not subscribe to Rivals, so I can't read the article, but the by-line asks whether he is still committed to SMU as well. Seems he had significant issues getting qualified out of high school.
Does anybody subscribe to Rivals such that he/she can disclose the high points of it?

Per Rivals, he was still rehabing a knee in mid September with plans to graduate no later than Spring 2009.

He is also still on the football roster according to the Navarro website. No info as to whether he has played or not.

He has played and I am thinking he may be injured again. I will email a friend of mine at Navarro and see if I can find out.

ponystampede has a quote from him today, saying he will not play this year, and will have three years to play at SMU.

Particularly important is the statement that he anticipates playing spring ball.

Agree bigtime, it would be huge to get him in for spring ball. This is all pending, until his studies workout.

I think this is going to be huge for a lot of the players on our team, given that there are so many true freshmen out there.
