Best Case Scenario?

What IF we end up signing Ryan Clark (who is now back to 4 star?), Rufus Porter, Kendial Lawrence and that Gamble kid.

We'd be looking at 8 3*'s and a 4* with some other talented lower classified players, eg padron. Pretty respectable effort for a 1-11 team....

Not yet a TCU class (who basically doesn't sign 2 stars anymore), but headed the right direction.

I'd bet we have a lot better chance of hitting all three of Clark, Porter and Gamble than we do with getting Lawrence to come here. As I've said I'd be happily flabbergasted if Lawrence signs with SMU. Of course, we could supplement with Ise Sofele who is strongly looking at SMU and Washington St. You know quite frankly, at 1-11 we might do well just treading water because it would really be difficult waiting until January and hoping to find 15 more recruits. I will say based on what I have seen most of these recruits do not appear to be waivering even after a poor season. That's a positive-we still have a way to go.

You should feel good about Clark and Porter, although Porter's not scheduled to visit until January. Not to shamelessly plug Rivals, but they've been all over Ryan Clark day and night, so it's been cool to know exactly what's been going on.

Whether the 4 star rating is warranted or not, would be nice to see the first one commit to SMU on rivals as far back as their database goes, 2002.

If he ends up signing, then that four star is definitely warranted. Also, interesting that all we heard about JJ was his tendency to like big blocking type RB's, yet here here we are doing everything we can do land Lawrence and Sofele. Hopefully, down the road, some of these nice OL recruits we've landed will allow a RB like that to prosper in this offense....
