Once committed to Tennessee, but no longer with their coaching change. Has since picked up offers from SMU and Baylor. Three stars at 6'3" and 212.

JJ's old D-Coord at Hawaii, Jerry Glanville, I believe is the head coach there. I really wanted him to come here and be our d-coord.

This reminds me. I was hunting with a guy once who played football for OU in the 80's ( i guess under Switzer). Anyway he told us that for his recruiting trip he got pickd up by two girls at the airport, taken to a hotel, and spent the next two days in the room with the two girls having a great time. He said he never even saw the campus and commited!!

On another hunting trip a guy told me SMU paid him 1000 dollars just for showing up for the visit.

This qb by the way has a low accuracy percentage and 4 td 8 int! however he could play on a terrible run oriented team i guess.

I went game by game by game through his schedule. Tennesse probably backed off because he didn't have a great season. Seemed like he may have missed portions of 4-5 games with his injury. Came back strong late in the Season and probably had his two best games in the last 2 games going 50 Comp. 71 Attempts for 597 yards and only 1 Int. combined in his last two games. Only 4 TD passes on the season.. 133 Comp. 219 Att. 8 Ints 1503 yards. DMN says they only got 6.9 per attempt which ain't great. Midlothian was not a strong team but they do run a 4 WR offense. Still he had at least 2 great summer camps and you'd think Tennessee and others saw something impressive in him to offer him so early.

QB Petty told in phone call that 'I'm not the guy'
By Dave Hooker Former UT commitment Allen now trying to recruit Teague to LSU

A concussion. A knee injury. A disappointing senior season.

Yet, there was always something to fall back on.

“I didn’t have the best season I wanted with the injuries and the season itself,â€

I think we need to sign 2 qbs this year or at least try and get a transfer qb to sign. We had horrible qb retention under Bennett which was a big reason for the inconsistencies and losing seasons. It will be nice to have some qbs who redshirt and then sit a year or two learning the system before being asked to start a Div 1 game. A big part of TX Tech's success is due to the qbs staying in the system and learning it well before being asked to play. Hopefully we will see better player retention at all positions under JJ.
