While the majority of Reeves' attention is focused on the championship game, his recruitment took an interesting turn recently as well. Iowa State head coach Gene Chizik was named the new head coach at Auburn. With Chizik gone, Reeves is reconsidering his commitment to the Cyclones.

"I'm actually going to open it back up," Reeves said. "I talked to my coach about it. Right now I'm going to stay committed and see what happens. Coach Chizik was the main reason I was going there. I don't know if he'll take me with him, but if he does, I'll probably end up at Auburn."

If Chizik decides not to send Reeves an Auburn offer, there are a few other schools that he's interested in as well.

"There's a couple of schools I've been talking to so far. I talked to SMU and I've talked to Colorado," Reeves said.

I love this kid. Incredible return man but not real big. He also is a real threat at WR. Think slot guy with football speed. He is as fast as he needs to be.

You paint a compelling picture.
Deliver him to SMU!

Stallion, besides kick return and cornerback, did he play any on the offensive side of the ball?

I never said he did and couldn't document any use on the offensive side of the ball in high school -but I think Brian is an Allen fan-right? If you watch his highlites he has very offensive skills-try 3 Punt Returns, I Kickoff Return and Interception return for 5 TDs in the first half of the season plus he had a Kickoff Return called back later in the season. He's 5-7 or 5-8 which is a big concern at CB. I just would not be surprised if Jones said hey this kid might make a helluva Inside Receiver. Earl Campbell was a LB as a Junior. Ladanian Tomlinson was a FB. We've got some Allen fans on this site. BTW he did have an outstanding 24-3 Long Jump as a Junior-that's probably around a top 5-10 jump in the State of Texas. Probably only a handful of kids in Texas with better jumps. And he has reported 4.32 which I couldn't document but there's an internet video of him leading Allen to a District 4 x 200 Championship. He's fast if not 4.32

OK Reeves did play a little Receiver last year at Allen according to the DMN Statistics page and didn't do too bad-Jeremy Reeves 8 catches 131 yards 16.4 yards per catch 1 TD

Jeremy is a receiver as well as a cornerback. Allen just figured that they had plenty of receivers and a strong corner in HS can make a big difference. I don't think he is big enough to play this position at the next level but when the season was on the line in the state semi final and state final, they were getting the ball into Jeremy's hands because he has the ability to break a long one on any given play. He had a touchdown called back in the finals on a reverse for a mystery holding penalty.

I would jokingly tell my son that he is the Allen Waterboy because when it was the "Last game of the year, Brent, can't hold anything back now" line got used alot.

Allen has the tendancy to spread the ball around to all its receivers. EZ Nwachaku got 33 passes tossed his way and he was 3rd in the team in receptions but is a Texas 100 recruit and the other 2 guys that got more passes were not.

This kid is not big and there is no way he is 5'8 but I have seen him run summer track and he is an aswesome long jumper and has great speed. The one thing that summer track does not show is that he has football speed and knows where to run to so he can make a tackle or where the hole is when he is running the ball.

He is also probably the only reason that Hightower is sitting at home wondering why they are not state champions.

I'd rather have a 5-7 or 5-8 Inside Receiver in the Run and Shoot than a 5-7 or 5-8 CB.

Stallion,

I agree with your opinion on this one as well. I would put him on offense in a heartbeat and leave him there. I would love to watch him and Johnson returning kicks for us next year as well.

I just want a CB that is comfortable with the ball in the air. Reeves seems like he has that attribute.

I'll agree with you on this, because even CUSA has a bunch of big recievers.

Seems like we are LOADED with 5-7 and 5-8 inside receivers. How about a few 6-4 or 6-5 320 lb. DTs! 8)
