UT-OU Recruiting Story in NYTNice to see he actually has his hands on a stack of envelopes with SMU letterhead. They appear undisturbed. He must have used a letter opener.
Bit of a hatchet job on UT. http://www.nytimes.com/2008/12/26/sport ... ref=sports
Oh boy, just wait until insane pony posse shakes off his hangover, and reads this. It's going to be on!
The kid seems very bright. Thoughtful about what he has seen. Seems mature enough to discern nuances in atmosphere like the weight room coaching differences.
She, on the other hand, is a Mustain-mom...guilt-tripping her son with one hand while pimping him out with the other. UT is definitely dirty. However, the Sooners aren't clean either. I think the lopsided comments by mom is compensating for OU's own dirt vis-a-vis recruiting her son. The NCAA will ignore this. Deloss Dodds is as corrupt as they come, and he's got to have pictures of somebody over there. What a twisted sick joke. "Moderation in all things, and especially in Absoluts [vodka]." The Benediction, Doc Breeden, circa 1992
How does this kid seem "bright?" Oh yeah, he saw two different workouts at different times at difference campuses...ha! I love how he turns this experience into a paper...I would LOVE to see that paper. And what makes you say UT is "dirty" or "dirtier" than OU???? There is absolutely nothing in this that warrants going after Deloss. All of these big time schools break the recruit rules. And as for the NCAA, would you really expect them to go wpending time and money based on what comes out of the NYT's take on the RRR version of Big Momma's House????? It tastes better when served from a Bowl (game)!
This is ridiculous. It is obvious that she is twisting things to make Texas look horrible and Oklahoma look amazing after basically forcing her son to go to OU.
1) she talked about how she was touched by OU's persistence because Shipp e-mailed everyday. However, when Texas called everyday, she was "sick of it" and when Muschamp noted that Texas probably gave McFarland the most attention out of any other recruit because they sent him the most e-mails/letters she said that was unacceptable and she felt sorry for all other recruits. Does she honestly believe that OU sent all of their recruits an e-mail everyday like Shipp sent emails to her? 2) In the article, it quotes an email from Brown saying “It is obvious that the recruiting has put a strain on your relationship. JaMac wants Texas, and Mom wants OU. We want you to still come to Texas, but we are going to slow our process down because you two need some time to get on the same page. We do not want players at Texas if everyone isn’t on the same page.â€
Agreed!! this is a case of Big Mama thinking she knows everything when, in fact, Big Mama knows nothing!!! I cant even really believe the NYT printed the article as is.
And to think, LSU would let the student hostesses sit on his lap???!!! Can you say DEATH PENALTY??????? It tastes better when served from a Bowl (game)!
Recruit McFarland detailed a party he attended in Dallas that was hosted by Longhorn fans:
"I will never forget the excitement amongst all participants," McFarland wrote. "Alcohol was all you can drink, money was not an option. Girls were acting wild by taking off their tops, and pulling down their pants. Girls were also romancing each other. Some guys loved every minute of the freakiness some girls demonstrated. I have never attended a party of this magnitude." He continued: "The attitude of the people at the party was that everyone should drink or not come to the party. Drugs were prevalent with no price attached." The article also claims that Texas offered money to McFarland's mother. http://blogs.suntimes.com/sportsprose/2008/12/jamarkus_mcfarland_recruiting.html C-ya @ Milos!
No it doesn't. Texas runs just about the cleanest BCS program in the country. UT talent pool now appears to be more stringent than SMU's. They rarely if ever take JUCOs, they don't take marginal recruits who gain eligibility through "creative" avenues and they run recruits with serious legal issues out of the program. There has been NO serious cheating issues since Mack Brown got there. I'm sure the usual UT haters are going to cry and [deleted] about that-but that's the reality. Mac Brown runs a clean program.
