he's hoping for an Arkansas offer this weekend on a visit-and would probably take it if he gets it. He grew up in his early years in Arkansas. Arkansas already has 2 commitments at QB though but one is a soft verbal. But right now Arkansas is at 25 commitments but that never stops them from going to 30 or so.

Arkansas also has Mallett and Tyler Wilson who may be better than Mallett. Wilson is the reason that Nathan [deleted] left. Wilson moved ahead of [deleted] last year and then became ill and had to sit the rest of the year. Does not mean that Arkansas will not sign all they can, but they are pretty strong at the position as of right now.

Bryce Petty has a great arm and good size at 6-3 210+. Also has 33" vertical leap and ok 4.7 speed. Great Run & Shoot QB prospect. Rivals 3 Star. I would sure like to see him become a Mustang !

It seems like Arkansas is pretty loaded at the QB position (especially with Mallett). I'd like to think this boads well for us.

He has other offers, such as Nebraska, but apparently his top choices are Arkansas and SMU now.

really a pretty good top 2 for a QB. Petrino has Brian Brohm and whomever else he coached at Louisville...names escape me now...JJ on the other hand had Chang, Brennan et al shattering records.

I think he really wants to go to the SEC, but he could end up at SMU. He's all potential right now though.

Here is the deal on Petty. Arkansas is waiting on Brandon Mitchell who committed to Arkansas last week but later said he wanted to take more visits. Mitchell is meeting with the UA QB coach today to determine the status. If Mitchell's scholarship becomes available, Petty will get the offer and has said he would definitely take it. Petty's quote is "I loved that visit. That got me all Hog. I loved being down there."

Mitchell as I understand it is from Louisiana and was going to play basketball exclusively but switched back to FB.

Well he shouldn't-I was looking at an Arkansas Roster and it said [deleted] got benched, Nutt went to Mississippi and [deleted] No. 2 transferred to Central Arkansas
