Wow! What a Nite!

I bet at one point we must have had 8-9 people logged into this site at the SAME TIME waiting to hear about Lawrence. Kinda tells the story right there in a capsule. Geez we've got a long way to go.

I'd like to have had the kid go to SMU, but I'm not going to ingratiate the ridiculous drama that goes on during the commitment process. It's silly. It was silly when Derrick Evans and Jessie Armstead did it from an Anatole hot-tub on TV, and it's still silly with the Lawrence kid.

"...a long way to go..." indeed.

If the fervor over recruiting or any other significant event is tied to the activity on a message/fan board, then that's ridiculous.

Frankly, I didn't feel like being on the computer when Lawrence made his decision.

BTW, talk about us staying classy, was Lawrence being classy when he chucked the Iowa State hat? Nice move. Sorry, we didn't get him but life goes on.

yeah, well we had a DB a couple of years ago do the pick a hat thing and he picked SMU. I won't current player bash, but it maybe hasn't turned out as well as some might have hoped.

This baloney that was on TV last night validates the idea of the AFCA getting the earlier signing date approved so less and less of this will happen.

We may have along way to go, but our recruiting is getting better. Truth is alot of these kids are really interested in SMU now. When JJ starts winning, I think you will see more & more propects not getting talked out of signing with SMU....We may still pick up another quality prospect or two before signing day, but we sure need to keep all that are already commited.

I guess the problem is, how do we start winning before we get the better recruits here?
