The posting of John Roderick on the list brings back memories. Roderick was a real "piece of work" during his days at SMU. His more than 150 yards of rushing by skirting the ends on 12 carries (as I recall) allowed SMU to beat an undefeated Navy team and Roger Staubach in his Heisman senior year. One of the truly great and memorable games in SMU history. Staubach got dinged in the 2d quarter and did not remember much of the rest of the game; however, kept them in the game and had 3 incompleted passes into the end zone to finally end the game. Rodrick had legitimate 9.3 speed in the 100 yard dash and was a key member of the SMU 400 yard relay team that won the Drake and Coliseum relays among other events. They also may have won the NCAAs which were held well after school ended causing my memory to be vague. Rodrick played some AFL pro ball ( I can't remember which team) at which time I lost track of this free spirited person. Anyone know what where he is or what he is doing?
