Patrick Witt, a 3-star QB from Wylie, is transferring from Nebraska. Wonder if he'll consider SMU?

I saw this young man at Wylie and he was pretty good.

Meh. Most of the Nebraska fans have been skeptical of this one. Granted, it is hard to evaluate a kid based on the little playing time he has had, but he also fumbled on pretty much every series that he got on the field. He never appeared terribly mobile either.

No real info out about what happened, but it sounds like he may have realized he was getting bumped to second (or probably even third) in the depth chart. Everyone is just surprised it happened before spring ball. Thought he would have at least tried to compete for the spot, as he was initially the front runner.

His parents also shopped him around in high school too. Moved to Highland Park from Georgia so he could step in after Stafford left, but then moved to Wylie a month later when it appeared that wouldn't work out.

He has already used his redshirt as well, so he would only have 2 years left after he has to sit out next season.

Sounds like an SFA prospect.

Ok. Word on the street--no idea if it is true, but I will see if I can get any inside info later this week--is that two things happened during 7-on-7 drills:

--the #2 QB started getting reps with the starters and things blew up
AND
--he got caught teaching the wrong signals to the new freshman QB who enrolled in Jan (and has apparently been very impressive so far)

You mean he tuahgt him the wrong signals so that he would do bad? If he did that nobody is going to want to take him except maybe Jackson State

Jackson State would not want somebody that did that(if it is true).

Yeah. That is what I meant. That is the rumor coming out of Lincoln. Again, no idea if it is true, but that is the rumor.

(It would explain the strange timing of this--with him now not being on a team to practice at all this spring--but something had to have happened for the presumed starter to up and quit four weeks before spring ball starts.)

Jacksonville St...or maybe Jacksonville...either way, had a ville in it. Their band probably isn't as good as Jackson St's either.

That was Jacksonville State. RGV Pony is right, Jackson State does have a pretty cool band.

So apparently......last night Witt sent a text message to a local tv station denying the false signal story.......but the team (conveniently for Witt) has a very strict lose your scholarship if you talk to the media about family business policy, so who knows!

And then today there was this..........

Sounds like Witt and daddy have some issues and both have some growing up to do. All I can say is good for Bo for not taking this crap. Glad he is gone, and I don't think I would be too excited if he wanted to be a Mustang either.
