Late this week, LSU continued its torrid pace of landing commitments in June, picking up a verbal from DE Houston Bates out of St. Paul's (Covington, La.). The 6-foot-3, 240-pound player had also attracted scholarship offers from Florida International, Louisiana-Lafayette, Louisiana Tech, Southern Methodist and Tulsa, as well as serious interest from Alabama and Oklahoma, he told Sporting News
