Tennessee QB Situation

a Tennessee talk show started an uproar a couple of days ago by stating that they had information on a Mystery QB recruit that Tennessee was about to get who was a "Big Fish". They said they would reveal "big Fish" soon. Since then there have thousands of posts on Tennessee websites concerning who the Big Fish was. SMU commit Stephen Kaiser has been part of the speculation as well as about 10 other QBs. According to this report the Big Fish is West Virginia Commit Barry Brunneti who the report says will now change commitment to Tennessee. Still vicious rumor-mongering but might want to keep an eye on the link

Take the WVU commit — leave our guy alone.

This is old news about about Kaiser. If you read the Kaiser thread I already talked about this.

And for Tennessee media to use Big Fish over a 3* commit, does that really add up? For Tennessee standards no. But again, I think that speaks to Jones ability to evaluate. If we lose him, that creates a trickle down affect with other QBs in the area. If not Kaiser, we'll get one.

The question for Kaiser is does he want to grow and succeed under Jones or does he want to get into a numbers game at Rocky Top and play for a backstabbing yutz in Lane Kiffin -- should it get that far.

Brunetti made a pretty solid denial of this rumor today on Rivals

If I'm Kaiser I would hope I do my due diligence about Kiffin when it came to his time at USC, when he interviewed for the job Minnesota and what exactly happened with his relationship with the Raiders.

Recruiting is a two-way street.

I am going to go out on a sunshine leap of faith and (gasp) believe the kid and his father who have both openly stated that he will honor his committment to SMU. I have no reason to question, fear, or worry about him leaving. If by some chance it were to happen for no reason other than to jump to another school, I will then change my attitude about this young man. But all he and his father have said to this point leave me with the belief that there still abides integrity in some people and I have the utmost confidence that he will stay committed to us.
