Kaiser v. Pilandsince a bunch of people who have given Stallion a hard time about his evaluation of Kaiser and Padron I would like to point out that Southlake's current QB is rated higher then Kaiser and committed to UofH.
Not a huge surprise to me that he is rated higher then Kaiser, but his only other offers are from: Towson, Portland State, and western Kentucky. WEST DIVISION CHAMPS 2010
Re: Kaiser v. PilandI evaluated on the basis of high school passing percentage, height, mobility, experience with offense and level of competition only. I never said one was definitely better than the other. I did say both should be redshirted and would not likely be ready in freshman season. I generally like the type of QBs June Jones goes after in comparison to whatever the hell Phil Bennett was thinking. But I think most all QBs should be redshirted unless he is a phenom and there is no experienced QB. Don't think either is a phenom and I'm tired of watching freshman QBs who aren't. Here's what I said last week(prior to 13-19 309 yard performance by Kaiser last Friday Nite) in response to a poster who thought Kaiser would automatically be the QB of the future
Size: essentially a tie between Padron(6-4) and Kaiser(6-3) Mobility: Padron Accuracy in High School: Padron High School Competition: Padron Familiarity with Offense: Padron High School Performance: Padron Padron only played in about 5 games as a Senior-a couple of 4th Q appearances as a Junior in a big Playoff Game and I believe he played in a National Spotlight Game against Miami Northwestern-the No. 1 team in the Country. Both times he played because of injury to Riley Dodge. There is no higher level of competition in the Country than Southlake Carroll during Padron's career. Senior Stats: Padron 129-193 (67%)for 1,550 yards and 18 TDs-he showed ourtstanding mobility for a tall kid with 297 yards rushing and 6 more TDs. Pretty damn good for a kid whose first true start was as a Senior Kaiser; 47% completion percentage as Junior As a Senior, Kaiser is 36 for 78(46.15%) for 610 yards with 8(maybe 9 TDs) and 1 Int. I haven't seen much in the way of running stats on Kaiser. Kaiser plays at one of the Top teams in St. Louis area but they are a run oriented teams. Padron played in one of the best pass Oriented Offenses in the Country and was coached during his career by a Coach who has tutored Chase Daniels(Heisman Contender), McElroy(Alabama QB) and Riley Dodge(5A MVP and starter at NTSU). I'd give the edge in transition to the Run and Shoot to Padron. I know Kaiser got a higher Rivals' rating but I think most observers felt that Padron likely would have seen his rating rise significantly if he had completed his Senior Year like it had started. Padron's rating was essentially a preseason rating-and they didn't want to give him 3 stars when he had never really started. I also think he would have ended up with several more offers had he stayed healthy "With a quarter of a tank of gas, we can get everything we need right here in DFW." -SMU Head Coach Chad Morris

Re: Kaiser v. Pilandi concur on every point made, which i was too bored to expand on but I knew you would. one exception though: PB did bring in Justin Willis. While JW had many issues, he was more then capable to lead the team for the next few years

Re: Kaiser v. Pilandwhile we are on the topic of southlake players. im surprised we havent offered cade foster a scholarship. he is rated a 2* and a solid commit to alabama. But we could use him at linebacker as well. SERIOUSLY, this kid is a machine! if you ever meet him in person you won't think he's a kicker... through 5 games he has 21 Tackles and 22 assists
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=C9DQoC5UxhM (linebacker plays start a 5:33) Offers: Alabama, Miami (FL), Stanford, Washington 6'1 215 4.6 Bench:370 Squat 525 Clean 325 http://rivals100.rivals.com/cpEvent.asp?Key=32889 (had him at a 4.79, but 3 best bench, and 8th in shuttle seepds) WEST DIVISION CHAMPS 2010
Re: Kaiser v. Pilandgood analysis. we really need to keep adding to our QB stable considering how important the position is to the R&S. [insert comment about how we now have two horses]

Re: Kaiser v. PilandThank you for the analysis. Padron is really an interesting QB and I feel like not very much information comes out on him. I fully expect him to complete his redshirt year and would like to see him competing for the starting position in the Spring. I think a lot of people have forgotten how much interest was developing around him this time last year from bigger conference schools. If he had not broken his hand, there is a good chance we never would have even been able to pick him up. I hope he does not fall through the cracks and would like to think he can deliver more than Bo Levi.
Re: Kaiser v. Piland
I agree. I saw Padron play & he was outstanding. I loved the fact he came to SMU along with Johnson & McDade. This trio should provide alot of big plays for us for several years. Really looking forward to seeing how Padron develops under J.J. "We have a great bunch of outside shooters. Unfortunately, all our games are played indoors."
Re: Kaiser v. PilandI hope that we are camped out at Carroll's campus for one of their quarterbacks every recruiting period. This program has the ability to develop college-ready quarterbacks.
1. Chase Wasson (Texas State) -- played but didn't do much 2. Chase Daniel (Missouri) -- Very successful 3. Greg McElroy (Alabama) -- Shining in his first year as the starter 4. Riley Dodge (North Texas after de-committing from Texas) -- Looked to be doing well until he got hurt 5. Kyle Padron (SMU) -- ??? 6. David Piland (Houston) -- Still at Carroll

Re: Kaiser v. PilandOK, OK. I could have gone back to when you were a gleam in your mother's eye and used Kris Brown (Nebraska) and Dane Johnson (Texas Tech).
Re: Kaiser v. Pilandshould we say it? TW__ -No but we are all thinking it-you're trying to goad us.
