Front page of rivals mentions RB daryl fields. how great would it be if we could land a guy like this?

Looks like he has offers from TT, OK State, Arkansas, Tulsa, and more.

Awesome that we are potentially in the mix for a guy like this

Don't know if DJ Jones is still even a possibility but this guy seems like the 2nd best option out there for us

I hear DJ Jones is pretty much in non-contact with our staff.

I think we land Fields. No inside info just a gut feeling. We have been at or near the top of his list for quite some time now. Also, I hear really good things about Der'rick Thompson. Its unfortunate that our two potential RB's (Pope and Thompson) both went down with ACL tears, but hopefully they can recover in time to have a shot at playing next season. I hear Thompson is a serious talent when healthy.

Don't forget, we have McNeal for one more year. That may give our injured guys time to recover and learn how to run in a single back, zone read, offense.

He is a 6'3, 205 speedster who is the State 4A Champ in the 200 and 400 in Oklahoma and would play at around 225 and could be a new Dickerson clone physically. I haven't seen him run but his stats are off the chain as he has only been at RB for his JR and Sr years in HS. He ran for 1495 yards and 30 TD's this year. Pleeeese get him signed Bert Hill.......would be a huge signing.

There is a great interview with his HS Head Coach about Daryl and his personality, choices of colleges and maybe why he may like to attend SMU today at ponystampede.com......join up and get some good insight from Josh.

Glad to hear that about Thompson. I know he is really fast I just have not heard much about him and had been wondering. I figured we would use him at WR but I guess he could possibly make a good rb too!
